After more than two decades of debate, the GMUG National Forest made a decision on November 5th to deny Crested Butte Mountain Resort's (CBMR) proposal to expand lift-served skiing onto nearby Snodgrass Mountain. Your help is needed to support the Forest Service decision to deny the ski expansion.

Along with local partners, High Country Citizens' Alliance and Friends of Snodgrass, Colorado Wild is grateful that the Forest Service had the courage to save Snodgrass for the biological, recreational, and scenic resources that it already contributes to the town of Crested Butte.
Although the Forest Service has made its decision, and states in the decision that it cannot be appealed, CBMR is working to overturn the decision and compel the Forest Service to enter into a full NEPA review. Obviously a NEPA process for the expansion would be lengthy, costly and likely to keep the Crested Butte community polarized for years to come.
US Forest Service and congressional offices have received numerous calls, e-mails and letters from people who wish to overturn the decision. We need your help in immediately contacting the Forest Service and Colorado congressional delegation, and urging them to support the decision. This is a clear opportunity to support a thorough and appropriate Forest Service decision that is under a lot of pressure.
